The Water Landmark Award Committee has not received any new nominees but is open and welcomes any nominee or leads on potential candidates for the award. This committee consists of Mike Cliburn, Andre Dieffenthaller, and Carl Larrabee with Chairman Rick Johnson.
Membership Update
The Membership Committee is charged with recruiting new association members, broadening the membership, and retaining current members, thereby not only increasing Section membership, but also enlarging the Section's allotment from association funds. This committee is concerned with recruitment and retention of all categories of membership.
Avinash Shekhar and Mark Lehigh attended the 2009 AWWA National Membership Summit in San Antonio, Texas to learn techniques in increasing membership and retaining existing members.
Avinash Shekhar signed up for member recruitment campaign initiated by national. Personally addressed letters will be sent to “prospective” members, electronic-signed by the admin council chair – Mark Lehigh.
A new membership booth was unveiled at the FWRC. We are currently updating the membership plan and working to get committee chairs at each Region.

Water For People
FSAWWA is one of four water organizations that formed a charity donor group in 2006 called Florida’s Water Associations (FWA). The other organizations are FWEA, FRWA and FW&PCOA. The primary mission of FWA has been and continues to be raising funds to support Water for People programs in developing countries.
Many people and companies contributed their time and money to support Water for People through Florida’s Water Associations. In particular, FSAWWA thanks their Regions II, III, IV, VII, VIII, IX, and XI for the money they raised in 2007 on behalf of Water for People.
Water for People will continue to be strengthened and expanded at all levels of FSAWWA. We look forward to a successful 2009.
